There are several ways by which you can gain admission into the university without writing JAMB .
To gain admission into the university without writing jamb is through the Interim Joint Matriculation Program known as IJMB.This programme allows you gain admission through direct entry into any Nigerian university that accepts IJMB.

The program would usually last for a period of 12-18 months and is accepted by most northern universities and a few universities in the East and Western regions of Nigeria including Ekiti state university Ado – Ekiti, University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka and Abia State University Uturu, Abia state.
University of Ilorin and University of Ibadan also accepts IJMB but for the University of Ibadan, you will still be required to write JAMB and will not be admitted into 200 level.
Other acceptable A-level certificate like A-level GCE certificate can be used equally to secure direct entry admission into 200 level in any university.
- Pre-degree/Remedial Programmes:
Pre-degree/Remedial/Foundation Programmes are offered by many universities and is designed to support candidates who do not meet certain requirements for admission. completing the programme which usually last for 7-12 months, the successful candidates are admitted into relevant undergraduate degree courses in the school they did the programme.
The National Open University of Nigeria doesn’t require you to write
JAMB before admitting you into the school.
they are currently accepting applications from interested students who want admission.
However, they are many things you will need to know about the school before you start your application.
Even though, the university does not require JAMB,
it’s been said to be one of the toughest schools to get into, due to their semester exams.

- Part-time/Weekend/Evening Programmes:
There are a lot universities that offer part time programmes.
This part-time degree programmes is just the same with full time degree programmes and not all courses are offered in part-time programme
If you enrol in any of these programmes, you will obtain your National Diploma certificate after 2-3 years just like those that gained admission through JAMB.
You can use the National Diploma certificate obtained to apply for direct entry admission into 200 level in any university of your choice if you do not want to continue with your HND in the polytechnic.
This is really cool if you are working and schooling at the same time as it will give you time for both.
You can easily get admission into private universities without JAMB, all you need is your O’level WAEC result, and if you can afford the tuition fees; then you’re all set.
A student can walk into the school with the necessary WAEC results will be admitted without JAMB, and even a few are admitted without any WAEC result, but it is on a special condition.
Requirements To Gain Admission Without JAMB Into These Programmes
All you need to run any of these programmes is just your O’level result (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB etc or even a combination of the results).
You don’t need to take JAMB or have a JAMB result to enroll in any of the programmes. Enrolling in any of these programmes is better than waiting for another year.
